The Action Logic Quiz
What kind of leader are you? This quiz is for people who lead in science, engineering and technical work: research groups, projects, teams and companies. It's built on Rooke and Torbert's research into seven leadership “action logics”: how leaders make sense of the world and react when their judgment, power or safety is challenged.
How common each style was among the thousands of managers the researchers studied, from least to most developed.
How to answer. Pick one or more options for each question. If you pick several, mark the one that feels strongest. Answer with what you'd actually do and feel, not what a good leader should do.
Based on David Rooke & William R. Torbert, “Seven Transformations of Leadership,” Harvard Business Review, April 2005.
